WHO IS A REALTOR?

WHO IS A BROKER? HOW ARE THEIR ROLES DIFFERENT FROM A REAL ESTATE AGENT?
In terms of curriculum and other aspects, the training and education received by a broker far exceed that received by an agent in many instances. A real estate broker can choose to work independently or with a team of other agents as per their wish and needs in their area. State laws may vary, as per the requirements, significantly from one another, but the criteria are generally the same throughout the country.
The only method for a real estate agent to work independently is to be engaged by a brokerage firm. In the brokerage industry, brokers hold brokerage licenses, whereas agents do not. Brokers are legally liable for the activities of their agents, and the courts recognize this. You’ll need a broker’s license if you want to work as an agent independently without being attached to a firm or company per se.
Many real estate brokers don’t have a fixed salary, as is the case in most other countries, so it is in Florida.
